About River Mountain Experience

Based in beautiful North Yorkshire within easy reach of the Dales, Moors and the Lake District. Looking to improve your map reading skills, leadership abilities, learn first aid or to kayak/canoe? Or just fancy a family outing by canoe with a picnic? We enable people to work or socialise in the British Countryside; giving them the skills, knowledge and ability through guided events, training or provision of equipment. Canoe and kayaks available for hire for you to enjoy and discover on your own; all modern and well maintained.

Booking Policy

We try to be as flexible as possible as we do know that things happen!

Please read our cancellation policy carefully and let us know as soon as you can if you are going to be unable to attend an event.

On receipt of your booking, we will check that numbers have not been exceeded and then send you a booking form and health forms. These must be completed and returned to us for the booking process to be completed and the booking made "full".

We will then send any further details or instructions that you will require for the activity.

Cancellation Policy

Custom Policy

1.1 All cancellations must be in writing and acknowledged by River Mountain Experience. The financial cost of cancellation is as follows:
1.1.1 • Deposits are non-refundable
1.1.2 • 50% of the total course fee where cancellation takes place less that 4 weeks but more than 1 week before the commencement of the course; or
1.1.3 • 100% of the total course fee where cancellation takes place within the period of 1-7 days before the commencement date of the course; or
1.1.4 • 100% of the total course fee where cancellation takes place on or after the commencement date of the course.
1.2 If the requested cancellation is due to restrictions or illness caused by a notifiable disease, a full refund will be made minus any registration fees already paid.

2.1 Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that courses/activities actually run, the company will notify the customer of cancellation as soon as practicable where it believes on reasonable grounds that cancellation is necessary due to dangerous and/or unsuitable conditions for the course/activity.
2.2 The company shall notify the customer of cancellation not less than five days prior to the commencement of the course, if practically possible, where numbers as a result of either customer(s) cancellation or booked numbers have failed to reach a workable minimum.
2.3 In the event of cancellation, customers will be offered the choice of the following options:
2.3.1 • Full refund of the fee paid; or
2.3.2 • Another booking on a different date.
